Colt Castrations

At BL Veterinary Services, we have extensive experience in castrating horses of all ages and breeds, ensuring a safe and smooth procedure under general anesthesia.
 

On the day of surgery, we ask that you have your colt caught and ready in a clean area, such as a grassy paddock, which provides enough space for recovery post-anesthesia. ​
 

Upon arrival, the vet will examine your colt to confirm he is healthy enough for the surgery and ensure both testicles have descended before proceeding with sedation, pain relief, antibiotics, and addressing any wolf teeth the horse has.

We also offer freeze branding at the same time and will do discounts for multiple operations on property.
